Intel's Core Ultra processors enter the market

Intel Core Ultra processors, code-named 'Meteor Lake', are the engine behind Intel's latest line that is a part of the artificial intelligence (AI)-focused PCs.

Specifications like the "neural processing device" to handle a variety of AI workloads, and a brand brand new "Intel AR Graphics" to improve the performance of 3D graphics were showcased during the conference.

They are also the very first to be constructed on Intel 4 Process Technology. The chips are housed using various types of silicone as well as a packaging method called "Foveros".

Intel claims that they are the most efficient processors that Intel has ever developed. With two types of cores that are battery-saving "P-Cores that can handle high-performance tasks and E-Cores that tackle routine tasks" According to the statement released today.

Intel Executive Vice General Manager and President of the Client Computing Group, Michelle Johnston Holthaus said on Intel's website "The introduction of Intel Core Ultra represents the unparalleled scale and speed with which Intel is providing AI for the PC. In 2028, AI computers will make up 80 percent of the market for PCs."

Intel announced the 14th Generation Core series of desktop processors in October of this year. Intel as well as Apple have been fighting it for a while, with both trying to provide the most powerful laptop processors, including the leak of Apple's M3 Max processor that was revealed last month.

AI is a major topic throughout 2023, with the 27 EU members ratifying the adoption of the Artificial Intelligence Act. This was the first time in the world region to come together on the ethics of governance for AI and its use across the EU.
